I've heard of people trapping someone, luring creatures, thus forcing the player to use an area spell, like Exori, and putting a summon amongst the creatures, when the player hit's the summon, they kill themselves to creatures.

I'm not sure, area spells will hit summons while in Dove mode, and if he will get unjust by your death only by hitting your summon, but maybe you should try that?
