BBot was born a long time before 8.5, the 8.5 was the first BBot that was capable of working on multiple-versions. I don't know when the first BBot was released, neither what was the first version. I think that it was like 7.6 or 7.7 for personal use. The website came online on 2009, but the BBot existed since 2007.
